If you follow me on Twitter or Pinterest (ahem!), you may have noticed that my itch for a great pair of penny loafers has gotten serious. I bought those Tods loafers I showed you a while back, but really…suede driving mocs in Portland are a bad choice. Back they went.
As soon as I laid eyes on these pretty pennies from Tory Burch, though, I knew I’d met my match (the extra 25% off sale didn’t hurt). I was convinced black was the way to go – classic, and all that. Thank goodness a dear friend assured me I really wanted the red. I awaited this package so very anxiously, I knew she’d made the right call. And in fact, they’ve scarcely been back in the box since they arrived. They’re the perfect shade of lipstick red, with details like that lovely pinked tongue and the gold logo on the vamp to make them look ultra luxe. I’m wearing them with everything – jeans, wintery wool skirts, and my favorite skinny trousers – and I can’t wait to pair them with shorts, come spring.

Oooh – those loafers are lovely! I like how red shoes bring POP to an outfit. And coincidentally with the lunar new year coming up (jan 23) where red = luck, i got a pair of kate spade karolina pumps in raspberry during the neiman marcus 65% sale a few weeks ago. can’t wait to wear them!
I just bought my first pair of Tory Burch flats during the aforementioned 25% off sale! No crazy or bright colors for me (shoes this expensive are an investment in my world – need to match with a lot)so I went with navy with the gold logo.
Love both of these buys! DL, a red pump is such a staple! And Kristina, those navy flats are definitely a classic – you’ll wear them to death! I have the same ones in all gold, and they’re very popular in my closet.
My only regret is not taking advantage of the sale after extending advice!
These are fab, and I really like this series idea. You always post about such gorgeous things, and I am curious about what really finds its way into a fashion blogger’s closet. Fun! I have been on a major clothes/accessories shopping hiatus since we purchased our house but I think my next one is going to be for my workouts – I am in desperate need of a new yoga mat and the Manduka mats are calling my name.
