Remember when you were a kid, and the sight of a rock with a bit of color or sparkle in it thrilled you? You’d swoop it up, proudly carry it home, wash it in the sink, and watch the colors turn vivid in the water. When Christine Mighion emailed to show me her latest collection, I couldn’t help thinking it was a little like those childhood days of finding that perfect stone along the beach.
I’m a sucker for raw stones in any form, but Christine has taken it to a new level. By extracting slices from a larger piece, she gets the color and beauty of the gem with all the depth and texture of a raw stone. Then she pairs them with eco-friendly recycled gold to create a simple, stunning piece that’s really all about the stone.
You can check out all of the styles in the Elements collection right here, but be warned: much like that ever-growing pile of rocks you amassed as a kid, these pretties are highly addictive.
