it’s official – the much-anticipated bargain lines from anya hindmarch and sigerson morrison have finally hit target.com, and should make it into stores by monday. and not a moment too soon…i think we could all use a cheap thrill this week, don’t you agree?
it’s no secret these are two of my favorite designers – both have the unique ability to make styles that are youthful but still sophisticated. and both have done a fantastic job for target. the hindmarch line is my absolute favorite – possibly my favorite target designer collaboration yet. i can’t wait to see these in person, and am crossing my fingers they work as well in real life as they do in pictures.
the sigerson morrison collection has a lot more misses mixed in with the hits, but i still think it has potential, and i’m anxious to check out these wares. i’ll definitely be splurging on those silver flats (this color is available online only, god knows why), as i can never seem to keep metallic flats looking new for very long, so i’m happy to scrimp in that department. and if you’re just aching to rock the bootie trend this fall, despite my advice to the contrary, at least you can do it for under $50 here…just please, steer clear of the bedazzled versions. if you simply can’t resist the sparkle, i suppose these gold peeptoe pumps could work for a holiday look, or add a heavy dose of ’80s irony to a casual ensemble.
so, tell me – what piece(s) will you be picking up from these new collections?
yes, i’m still coveting an anya hindmarch bag. and i do think it’ll be my next serious splurge in the handbag department…her bags are fabulous because they’re impeccable in every way, yet don’t take themselves too seriously.
the latest addition to the anya hindmarch family is the perry bag – i passed this one over the first few times i saw it, but then i saw the perry being modeled, and readers, all i can say is this bag has serious personality. from a practical standpoint, the colors are as neutral as they get – but in combination, they speak louder than neon. it’s the perfect blend of sophistication and fun, and i just can’t get enough.
the perry does come in solids as well, but really – how could you pass up this stunning tri-tone version? especially when you find out that those black details on the front are actually pony hair. the fun never ends. pick up your fun at net-a-porter, for $1,250.
ps: for a slightly more cost-effective statement bag (ie, FREE!), don’t miss out on this week’s amazing giveaway from nest bags…click here to enter!
agh…my wallet is positively groaning. neiman, saks, bergdorf, nordstrom – everyone has started their spring sales, and my restraint is wearing thin. but i was doing pretty well until shopbop’s designer sale started.
now, those gorgeous anya hindmarch silver woven d’orsay pumps (wow, that’s a long description for a pair of shoes) i wanted a month ago have made their way from a worthy splurge down to a very responsible buy. same goes for that stunning chocolate brown woven elrod. and her stunningly beautiful grey studded shoulder bag.
and these fantastic gatsby pants by peter som do, in fact, remind me of an afternoon soiree circa f. scott fitzgerald. they were just featured in the june vogue, so it’s a wonder they’ve already hit the sale rack. marked down to just under $500, they’re still a splurge, but if you have the bod to carry off the volume (read: long and lean), they’re a classic style that is well worth your next bonus. while you’re at it, check out som’s luscious take on the classic cardigan – long, lean and oh-so-stylish, it would definitely be a worthy addition to your wardrobe.
loads of other unmissable options to peruse, so head over and get your shop on!
i’ve been wanting an anya hindmarch bag for years. there’s something about her style that i just love. but i was never really “in love” with any of her designs…until now. her new ‘spider’ clutch is just about as perfect as perfect gets, i think. that rich tan leather keeps it casual enough for day, but the metallic gold bottom and hardware make it perfect for a night on the town. plus, i love that the size (10×5) is just large enough for it to work as a day clutch, without being so huge that it joins the “mega clutch” trend, which will be out in mere months. and the price ($485) is actually reasonable among her high-end counterparts.
when it rains, it pours. this cooper tote is so lovely, i hardly know where to start. again, i love that metallic bottom, but the shape and color are just so perfect for spring. it’s striking without being too “in your face” – really just fantastic. the chloet bag is the same idea, but she’s added on those fabulous studs i couldn’t get enough of from her aretha bag, but made the style a little more casual. plus, that grey color is so very fantastic. sigh.
you can check out everything for spring at shopbop.com or net-a-porter. i honestly don’t know whether i should just snag that stunning clutch now, or save my pennies and hope the chloet bag isn’t gone by the time i can actually afford it.
oh my, how i adore these shoes. that gorgeous woven leather, the beautifully sculpted arch, that yummy metallic silver…sigh. true, at $455, i’d have to adore them, but…well, i do.
anya calls these evening shoes, but i actually think the wooden heel makes them uniquely versatile for day or evening, and i’d wear them a dozen different ways. with skinny jeans and a big chunky sweater, with a gorgeous dress and tights, or, sure, a fabulous cocktail dress.
i’m fairly certain these won’t make it to the sale rack, so if you’re in love and can afford the spluge, well, these beauties are well worth it. i will have to be content to pine from afar.
