 lilogi-1

Leigh & Luca, Mary Katrantzou & Horiyoshi the Third, all available at Lilogi

Just because it’s summer, don’t think for a second that my scarf collection is on sabbatical. Frankly, I’m freezing darn near all the time – but there’s also that constant flow of A/C, chilly evening air and San Francisco’s highly unpredictable weather to contend with. So, while I might switch from cashmere to cotton, linen and silk, my scarves are still getting a serious workout this season. summer scarves

If there’s anyone I know who’s a bigger scarf addict than yours truly, it’s Nicole Feix. She’s the founder of Lilogi, also known as My Happy Place. It’s a fantastic online boutique entirely dedicated to scarves (and which, PS, has a pretty amazing sale section). She carries some of the most extraordinary pieces, with a flawless mix of names I know and love, and new lines I’m always thrilled to discover. She was kind enough to let me pick her brain about my all-time favorite accessory, and offered up all sorts of wisdom about how to wear, choose and store your scarves year round! style files: jaci carley of inhabit

I suspect it’s no secret by now that I have a longstanding love of all things Inhabit. Some brands get my heart for a season, or even a year…but with Inhabit, it’s for life. Their fabrics defy all logic – cashmere that’s somehow both lightweight and sumptuous, cotton so soft that you’d swear it was silk – and their designs always strike that perfect balance between edgy and classic. Smart details like reverse seams and asymmetrical side vents make even a simple cashmere crewneck into a collector’s piece.

So, when their impossibly hip designer, Jaci Carley, offered to do a little styling challenge with me, featuring my favorite piece from their spring collection (three cheers for Twitter!), you can guess how quickly I said yes. inhabit cashmere

cheap thrill: leigh & luca scarves 50% off

i’ve been meaning to do a post to tell you all about the wonders of leigh & luca scarves…i love them so!  and when i met up with one of my favorite fashion designers recently, she was sporting one as well, so i know i’m not alone.  they’re just infinitely useful, as everything from a scarf to a sarong to a shawl, and the designs are utterly modern and fabulous.  a square scarf can be a little intimidating, but rest assured:  once you get the hang of them, you’ll fall in love.

best of all, i hear they’re 50% off today at daily candy’s sample sale site, swirl.  head over and check out the steals…it’s the perfect time to nab a piece by this seriously talented bunch!  and if you don’t find a style you love at swirl, you should definitely check out the sale section on leigh & luca’s own website…many are gone, but there are some steals to be had!

oh, and i promise to do a nice long feature about how to wear these beauties soon…stay tuned!
