asked, but not answered: the perfect eye cream

okay, readers, time to turn the tables a bit. for months now, i’ve been searching (unsuccessfully, obviously) for the perfect eye cream. i feel like i’ve tried so many samples that the girls at sephora collectively sigh when i walk into the room. and still, my poor eyes are just not happy. nice to know they’re as picky as the rest of me, but enough already.

so, dear readers, i’m taking a poll. what fabulous eye products have YOU found that you’ve loved?? and who knows….if you come up with the one that i end up loving too, we might just work out a super fabulous prize….er, thank you gift. yes, i think we could do that. there’s definitely a fabulous thank you gift in the future of the person who finds me an eye cream that i fall head over heels for. (hmm…is it really that obvious that i came up with this idea just now, while i was writing this?)

now, this is a real question, so no just listing every eye cream on sephora.com – i want actual recommendations, please!

My favs (which I use religiously):

    1) Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair (at night).
    2) Dermalogica Total Eye Care (during the day).

They’re pricey, but they definitely last a few months (at least 3), and I swear they have the power erase existing lines and wrinkles.

    This stuff is awesome:
La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream
but too rich for my blood. You actually gave me a sample of this stuff way back when, so it may mean you can’t use it anyway.

On the other end, I’ve been using:
    Neutrogena Radiance Boost Eye Cream
Super inexpensive (well worth the $10 try) and I feel it’s a great base for my eye makeup. I also like that this one is super light, so I don’t feel as though I’m wearing a raccoon mask.

So, that’s my 2 cents, and, no thank you gift necessary! In fact,if you’d like to try the La Prairie stuff, or the other stuff, lemme know, I’ll bring them by for you to try.

    GL!

I was going to recommend Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair. I haven’t tried the Total Eye Care, but I love the eye repair. Actually, my skin loves pretty much all Dermologica prodcuts…

Since I realized Im almost turning almost 30, I decided to not go softly into old age. I’ve been using DHC (mail order but the company ROCKS) Coenzyme Q10 eye cream.

While I didnt have wrinkles persey- my eyes are pretty damn happy!

i too have searched and searched for the best eye cream. I have tried ones that contain sunscreen to ones that contain AHA’s, but the one i keeep coming back to time and time again is La Prairie’s Eye Contour Cream. it is the most moisturing and works great under makeup! i know it’s a little pricey but it’s worth it!

I shopped around for a long while also. In the mornings I use Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Eye Cream (helps the black circles I get from not getting enough sleep). At night, though — after trying a lot of different eye creams — I actually use either Rosebud salve on my eye area, or else I use Kiehl’s basic lip balm (the one from the pot). Most nights it absorbs entirely.

If your actual eyes are hurting (from contact lens use, or lots of computer use, or allergies, try Theratears “nighttime” gel drops. You can get them at drugstore.com. SO soothing.

I would definitely go with the Dermalogica recommendations… I can try to score some samples from the spa at the gym. Also, I just happen to have a Benefit Eyecon sample in my grubby little paws… you may have, if you like…

No suggestions, but I’d be interested to hear which one you picked when you finally land on one! 🙂
