it’s been years since i spotted a jeffrey campbell shoe i liked. lately, i’ve been lumping them squarely into the ‘steve madden’ category: generally uncomfortable knockoffs of designer styles, with nary an independent thought to be found. but i went out for a little impromptu shopping spree with a friend this afternoon, and came across the sweetest suede flats. they came in a bright cherry red and a bold violet, both with a perfect little hidden mini-wedge. and it turned out they were jeffrey campbell (and, therefore, under $100)! sadly, i can’t track them down anywhere online (but believe me, when i do, you’ll be the first to know). but i did come across these:
aren’t they fabulous?! i love the zipper accent, but it’s not too big and bold to keep these from being perfectly wearable. this chic detail, along with the elasticized collar, make these shoes look much more expensive than their $110 pricetag. and, while photos can be deceiving, the leather quality actually looks quite good. i generally shy away from black shoes (ditto for black bags), but these are so stylish they’re worth breaking my rule. if you’re in the market for a new black flat, these are anything but basic, and would make a perfect addition to your shoe rack – nab them at shopbop before fall arrives and everyone else realizes they need a new black flat too!
here’s hoping the peeps over at jeffrey campbell keep up this lovely work…at this rate, i’m ready and willing to be a newly devoted convert.
