Friends, it is hot as a bucket of beans in San Francisco this week. How are things where you are? To say I don’t do well in warmer climes would be, well, the world’s most hilarious understatement.
The biggest problem with the mercury hitting 90, of course, is that
it’s too hot to drink my summer wardrobe is nowhere near ready. Remember, I’m still doing my “how to dress like a French girl” experiment! And blazers + scorching temperatures are not exactly a match made in heaven.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to run off to the beach right this moment. (Where, of course, I shall look completely flawless, with perfectly wavy beach hair in a perfectly slouchy beach-friendly dress.)
Lou & Grey is essentially a loungewear/weekend staples collection (also known as “the perfect wardrobe” for those of us who work from home), but that description sells it short. Comfy, nubby natural fibers, sweet little details that make casual pieces into something special, and a neutral color palette that I’m finding incredibly calming today. Lou & Grey helped me do some exhaustive research (you’re welcome), and I can tell you, these pieces fit like a dream, and are basically all I plan to wear for the next several days (if not months). A few of my favorites:
(And PS…an awful lot of things are an additional 40% off an already impressive price.)
I’m particularly in love with that linen moto…leather is so not seasonally appropriate just now, and if you keep this away from the drycleaner (truly – never, ever iron linen. Disaster! Stick to steam.), it will get that perfect lived-in wrinkled look that all the hip girls are expert at. Just the thing to throw on when evening rolls around and a chill sets in.
Check out all of the Lou & Grey goodness right here. (And of course, never accept less than 20% off – you’ll get that just for signing up for their newsletter.) Oh, and if you want a few Lou & Grey styling tips from yours truly, just head on over to Instagram!
