cheap thrill: the perfect contrast-sleeve jacket

Phew…I’ve been talking about so many spendy new collections this week! You must be tearing your hair out, wondering if I’ve forgotten all about the real world. I haven’t, I swear. But eye candy is good, and a girl can dream, right? (And occasionally splurge.)

But still. Since we live back here in the real world, I thought a Cheap Thrill was in order to make up for this week’s excess. Last week, I nabbed a goodie in Nordstrom‘s newly-revamped Savvy department (which is a bit like a Nordstrom-grade H&M). I was skeptical, but this particular find is fabulous, and I have to share. I know, I know, the photos aren’t great, and it looks a bit baseball-tee meets chop-shop sweatshirt. And why must they pin the sides like that? But trust me: in person, this contrast-sleeve jacket from Go Make Noise (a new in-house label for Nordstrom) looks like the love child of Iro and 3.1 Philip Lim, but it’s $66. The absolutely perfect layer over a tee and skinnies, or a great way to edge up your favorite sheath dress. I’m also thinking it would be awfully cute with a floral skirt come spring. I’ll even model it for you!

Sizing advice: this one runs a little small, so size up. And don’t be afraid to call a store and have them track one down for you! If you’re in Portland (or heck, even if you’re not), my salesguru Adam M. is the man, and will find you anything under the sun.
