Hi, friends! I’m back, I’m caffeinated, and I’m finally ready to start telling you all about that wonderful trip I took. Before I get into the official travel reviews, tips and all of that goodness, something’s been nagging at me. Something I noticed literally nonstop on this trip, time and time again. I’d sit in a café, sometimes for hours, just people-watching. Or, more specifically, scoping out all of those gorgeous Parisian girls whose style we’re always trying (and failing) to emulate over here. And by about Day 6, something clicked. Not that I expect a lot of sympathy, friends, but this jetlag…sheesh. I remember being able to shake off an international flight like no one’s business when I was in my 20s. But now? Well, I’m blogging at 4 am, if that tells you anything.

Statement jewels have their place, but my heart belongs to those classic, delicate pieces of jewelry I can wear 24/7. And truly, I’m not sure anyone does delicate better than my superstar friend Ariel Gordon. Beloved by editors, celebs and even us ordinary people, Ariel is the reigning queen of California cool, but has some serious global style cred too. friends & family: shopbop and saks

Friends, I know. It’s temptation central around here this week. But Shopbop Friends & Family and Saks Friends & Family? You’d never have forgiven me if I didn’t tell you about it. Both are offering 25% off SITEWIDE (with the usual exclusions), and my guess is you either (a) hadn’t heard but really needed to know, or (b) had heard, and have frantically been clicking back and forth between the two sites, figuring out what to buy and where to buy it. Or is that just me?
